92 L is not organized, but is wet and a bit windy and is headed our way. Generally the weather guys think it's coming nearby on Wednesday. Depending on who you read the winds are expected to be from 50 -80 MPH / location of this weather anywhere from Belize on up to northern Yucatan. The excellent news is that they tend to agree that there isn't enough time or space for this system to become a real hurricane. YEA.
Seems advisable to check your gutters and be prepared to pull boats if necessary.

Just went for a walk along the beach - definitely wet, but rains are nothing like what you'd expect if you looked at the satellite. Karl looks far scarier on the radar than he does in person. Winds are kicking up but seas are rather flat out in front.

Marty Online happy
weather is wet, windy. Power
is off from Boca del Rio north. Winds are gusty, and come from the
back so the seas on the eastern shore are not high or rough.
Karl is expected to land north of us around 8 am and the rains are
expected to be heavy for the rest of the day.

Cisterns should be full or nearly so by the end of the day.
No major problems for us in the MIddle Island.

Cheers
MINS

Weather Underground posted the following about Karl -

*********

Karl
Tropical Storm Karl made landfall as a strong tropical storm with 65 mph winds and a central pressure of 991 mb at 8:45am EDT this morning on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, just north of the Belize border. Karl took advantage of nearly ideal conditions for intensification, and in just fifteen hours intensified from a tropical disturbance to a strong tropical storm with 65 mph winds. Had Karl managed to get its act together just one day earlier, it could have been a major hurricane at landfall this morning. Fortunately, Karl has a relatively small area of strong winds--tropical storm force winds extend out just 45 miles from the center of the storm, and wind damage is not the main concern. Heavy rains are the main concern, and Belize radar shows heavy rain bands from Karl spreading ashore over northern Belize near the border with Mexico. Cancun radar shows that heavy rains are relatively limited, though, near the tourist havens of Cancun and Cozumel.
