Belize City Primary Schools Volleyball Competition continues at the Belize City Centre

The Belize City Primary Schools Volleyball Competition continued at the Belize City Centre with a number of games. On Tuesday October 19, in the female game, St. John Vianney defeated Salvation Army by the score of 25-9 and 25-11. Meanwhile, in the male game, St. John Vianney also defeated Salvation Army in two sets by the score of 25-20 and 25-20.
The competition continued on Monday October 18, in the female game, Hummingbird Elementary School defeated St. Johnís Primary School in two straight sets by the score of 25-7 and 25-13. In the male game, Hummingbird Elementary School defeated St. Luke Methodist School by the score of 25-24 and 25-11. On Friday October 15, in the only female game played, Belize Elementary School defeated Holy Redeemer School in two sets by the score of 25-2 and 25-11.

In the first of two male games played, Holy Redeemer School defeated Belize Elementary School by the score of 25-19 and 25-19. In the second game, Central Christian School defeated St. Luke Methodist in two sets by the score of 25-11 and 25-16. On Thursday October 14, in the first of the two male games on the schedule, Salvation Army School won over Trinity Methodist School via the default route. In the second game, Central Christian School defeated Hummingbird Elementary School in three sets by the score of 25-20, 16-25 and 15-9.

After the holiday weekend and the suspension of classes because of the treat of Tropical Storm Paula, the competition resumed in earnest on Wednesday October 13, with games in the female and male competition. In the female game, St. Johnís Primary defeated Queen Square Anglican by the score of 25-19 and 25-20. In the male game, it was Queen Square Anglican over its sister school St. Johnís Primary in two sets by the score of 25-20 and 25-11.

St John Vianney & Hummingbird girls & boys win in primary schools volleyball

The St John Vianney RC Primary School girls and boys both enjoyed victories when the Belize City primary schools volleyball competition organized by the National Sports Council continued at the Belize City Center on Tuesday.

St. John Vianney School girls won easily over the Salvation Army School girls: 25-9 and 25-11, while their schoolmates won 25-20 and 25-20 over Salvation Army School boys. The St. John Vianney boys had also won their first game 25-19 and 25-18 over the Belize Elementary School boys on Tuesday, October 5.

On Monday, the Hummingbird Elementary School girls won 25-7, 25-13 over the St. Johnís Anglican Primary School girls, while their schoolmates won 25-24 and 25-11over the St. Lukeís Methodist School boys. The Hummingbird Elementary School had won 25-10 and 25-18 over the girls of Queen Square School in their first outing on Thursday October 7, in which the Hummingbird Elementary boys also won 25-18 and 26-24 over the Queen Square Anglican School boys.

Last Friday the Holy Redeemer School posted their 2nd win in 2 sets 25-19 and 25-19 over the Belize Elementary School boys. The Holy Redeemer boys had also won their 1st game 25-23 and 25-18 over the Salvation Army School boys on Wednesday October 6.

The Holy Redeemer girls also won their 1st game 25-13 and 25-15 over the Salvation Army School girls on Wednesday October 6, but they fell short when they went up against the Belize Elementary School girls who won 25-2 and 25-11. The BES girls had also won their first game 25-8 and 25-5 over the St. John Vianney RC School girls on Tuesday, October 5.

The Central Christian School boys posted their 3rd win in two sets 25-11 and 25-16 over the St. Lukeís Methodist School boys. The Central Christian boys had also enjoyed their 2nd win 25-20, 16-25 and 15-9 against the Hummingbird Elementary School boys last Thursday. The Central Christian boys got an easy bye to their first win when the St. Johnís Anglican Primary defaulted on the opening match of the tournament on Monday, October 4.

The Salvation Army School boys also got an easy bye to their first win when the Trinity Methodist School boys forfeited their scheduled game last Thursday.

The St. Johnís Anglican Primary School girls enjoyed their first win 25-19 and 25-20 over the Queen Square Anglican School girls last Wednesday.

The Queen Square Anglican School boys handed the boys of St. Johnís Anglican Primary School 2nd second loss: 25-20 and 25-11 last Wednesday.

The Queen Square Anglican School boys had also enjoyed their first win 25-11 and 25-14 over the St. Luke Methodist School boys when the competition opened on Monday, October 4.

Belize Elementary and Our Lady of the Way are Belize District Primary Schools Volleyball Champions

The 2010-2011 Belize District Primary Schools Volleyball Championships came to an end on Friday November 12, at the Belize City Centre. In the female championship game, Belize Elementary School defeated Crooked Tree Government School in two sets by the score of 25-13 and 25-8 to repeat as the district volleyball champions.

In the male championship game, Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic School from Ladyville defeated Queen Square Anglican School by the score of 25-18 and 25-12 to take this yearís volleyball championship. In game one in the female competition, Crooked Tree Government School defeated Holy Redeemer School in three sets by the score of 22-25, 25-21, and 15-12. In the second female game, Belize Elementary School defeated Burrell Boom Methodist by the score of 25-18, and 25-12.

In the male competition, Queen Square Anglican defeated Burrell Boom Methodist in three sets by the score of 25-22, 21-25, and 15-12. In game two, Our Lady of the Way defeated Holy Redeemer in three sets by the score of 25-21, 24-26, and 15-10. Belize Elementary School girls and Our Lady of the Way Ladyville boys will represent the Belize District at the National Primary Schools Volleyball Championships scheduled for Friday November 26, 2010, at the Belize City Centre.

BES girls & Ladyville boys win Belize District primary school volleyball champs

The Belize Elementary School girls and the Our Lady of the Way RC School boys from Ladyville won the Belize District primary schools volleyball championship held by the National Sports Council at the Belize City Center last Friday.
In Game 1, the Belize rural champions, the Crooked Tree Government School girls advanced to the finals by eliminating the Belize City sub-champions, the Holy Redeemer RC School girls 22-25, 25-21 and 15-12.
In Game 2, the Belize City champions the BES girls advanced to the finals by eliminating the Belize rural sub-champions, the Burrell Boom Methodist School girls: 25-18 and 25-12.
In Game 3, the Ladyville boys advanced to the finals, eliminating the Belize City champions the Holy Redeemer RC School boys 25-21, 24-26 and 15-10.
In Game 4, over the Belize City sub-champions, the Queen Square Anglican School boys advanced to the finals by eliminating the Belize Rural champs, the Burrell Boom Methodist School boys: 25-22, 21-25 and 15-12.
In Game 5, the BES won 25-13 and 25-8 over the Crooked Tree Government School girls in the championship finals.
In Game 6, the Ladyville boys won 25-18 and 25-12 against the Queen Square Anglican boys in the championship finals.

On Thursday the BES girls had won the Belize City championship against the Holy Redeemer School girls: 25-9 and 25-8, and both schools had advanced to the district finals.
The Holy Redeemer boys had won the Belize City championship against the Queen Square Anglican boys: 25-19, 21-25 and 16-14.
On Wednesday, the Holy Redeemer girls had advanced to the Belize City finals by eliminating the Hummingbird Elementary School girls: 25-21 and 25-23 in Wednesdayís semifinals
The BES girls also advanced to the city finals by eliminating the St. Johnís Anglican Primary School girls: 25-2 and 25-11.
The Holy Redeemer boys had entered the city finals by eliminating the Central Christian School boys: 25-23 and 25-15; and the Queen Square boys entered the city finals by eliminating the St. John Vianney RC School boys 28-30, 25-22 and 15-9.
