Hey, Seashell...thought Papi's was a secret? Yes, Yes, Yes, go to Papi's! Make sure you go. Also, our second favorite was Celi's Deli. Never made it to the restaurant, but the deli is great! Also, don't be afraid to eat from the street vendors. A gentleman always came by the Seven Seas (where we stayed) riding a 3 wheeled bicycle selling THE BEST chicken burritos we have ever had. Also, the local children come by after school selling food that their mom's cook during the day. Excellent flan, meat pies, tamales, etc. Never got sick, and we would have NEVER eaten from the street vendors in Mexico. Estel's by the Sea for breakfast. Pricey, but worth it to,as someone has said, wiggle your toes in the sand while eating breakfast and scratching a local dog behind the ears...nothing better! (Sorry if this prints twice...my first post did not seem to go through! Have a great time!

Mary and Scott, yes, Papi's was supposed to be a secret but you guys kept blabbing it so I figured what the hey, might as well join in and show my support. :^) Whatcha gonna do? Ultimately, one has to talk about the good ones. Sigh. I probably won't be able to get a seat the next time I go.

Cherie, don't worry about gaining weight. I ate 3 wonderful meals everyday, something I don't normally do, and drank alcohol everyday, and I lost weight the eight days I was in SP. You are walking, walking, walking, and swimming, and then there is the Almighty PUNTA that will shake any extra off of you, so eat up girl. It is the BEST!!!! Punta Rebel Girl

Liked all the ones mentioned but also Caliente--very unique sauces! Wish I had gone to Papi's but Los Cocos was really good to for simple but the freshest fish.
And you're on vacation so go girl and EAT!!!
Like other replies--I always LOSE WEIGHT on vacation and eat twice as much. Swimming, walking and biking burn a lot more calories than sitting behind a desk all day.
Have a great time.
