OP Marty	Later in the newscast we will cover the devastation to the citrus industry and the millions of dollars it stands to lose from the ravages of Hurricane Richard. There's another industry, a key player in the economy, that's the tourism industry that is also feeling the impact of the hurricane. Tonight we can confirm that the Carnival Triumph cancelled its stop-over in Belize today and on Thursday, the Carnival's Valor will also not dock in Belize. The industry stands to lose, we are told by sources, in the range of a million Belize dollars, due to the cancellations. There is no confirmation yet on any cancellations for Friday or next week and we will follow-up on that. But we do know that the reasons for the cancellations are because the rain markers and the buoys were damaged by Hurricane Richard.

OP Marty	Cruise Ship Arrivals Resume With all the losses and devastation wrought by Hurricane Richard, it went under the radar that cruise ships also had to cancel their calls on Belize due to navigational aids which were damaged in the passage of the storm. Well, the BTB today announced that the guides have been repaired and with that cruise ship activity will now resume in Belize City. Three ship calls were cancelled this week because of the broken aids, which were. From what we've been able to gather, getting them fixed wasn't easy- not least because they are very expensive and there is a schism between the Public Port Authority and the private Port Of Belize. According to the BTB, the repair required the collaboration of National Emergency Management Organization and Belize Port Authority, along with assistance from the BTB and the Ministry of Tourism. OP Marty	CRUISE SHIPS TO RESUME OPERATIONS IN BELIZE The passage of Hurricane Richard had an impact on various sectors including tourism. Three cruise ships cancelled since Tuesday because of broken navigation aids. The navigations aids are instrumental in guiding cruise lines into the channel in order to lead the ships into their anchorage in the Belize Harbor. Today the Belize Port Authority issued a release informing shipping interests, shipping agents and seaport facilities operators that the works to restore and replace the navigation aids in the English Caye main Channel damaged during the hurricane have been completed as of today. The Channel is now safely navigable by the shipping community. The Belize Tourism Board has announced that cruise ship activity will now resume in Belize City. LOVE FM
