Hey guys,
I have Smart and BTL cell phones,
Every time if I go out I have to bring these two cell phones,
Cuz in remote place smart is beta than BTL,
but in City Limit BTL is beta than Smart
I know there are some cell phones could accepted GSM & CDMA both sys in one cell phone,
So I would like to know
Has anyone ever try that before?
What model of cellphone could accepted GSM & CDMA sys.?
What is MHz for GSM & CDMA each sys.?
Thanks!

I know BTL is 1900 MHZ and I think Smart is 800 MHZ. They are called triband phones and work on all 3 major systems.

Currently Belize only uses two of the three. GSM CDMA and TDMA I believe is the third common system used in the world. I had looked into buying one of the triband phones a couple of years ago. Do a search on eBay for descriptions

I have done some research for external antennas as we are out of range for a good signal from the telecoms tower in PG. I came across this article.
http://www.cdg.org/resources/files/fact_sheets/CDMA450%20World%20Update_01SEP2010.pdf
The Frequency ranges do not fit with what is being discussed here. 450 Mhz is what is confirmed by our CDMA hand set, born out by the document above. how the system identifies the encoded number is unclear. BTL are not at all helpful.
For those of us who are out of range of a tower may wish to pressure BTL to import and distribute external antenna to those of us who are not in range. This would increase the number of people signing up for the "new" 3G system.
