I would enjoy a sail trip to maybe Caye Caulker or somewhere else without the tourist nightmare stops and park fees of Hol Chan & Shark Ray Alley. I'm thinking rum punch and beer and a stop to jump off the side with your noodle and drink and relax to some music off the boat and maybe see an occasional sea turtle swim by. Does anyone have any suggestions who might offer this. I cannot charter a boat for just the two of us, but I would have to think other people would be interested in something like that

Contact Steve at 600-5022. He owns the small catamaran called No Rush that is moored just off of the Spindrift Dock. Not the nicest boat by any means, but its got tons of padded sedating, good music, and a big trampoline on the front where I usually sleep for about the first 30 minutes of every trip we take. My wife and I have gone out with a bunch of friends twice and had a blast. He will take you wherever you want to go and he sails from about 9:30-4:30 and it only costs $90 bze per person. I think its a 4 person minimum at that price, but you'd have to ask him. Plus he includes the rum punch and conch ceviche that is made fresh on the boat. Cant beat it.

Agreed about the No Rush. Took that trip 3 years ago and had a great time. Went with a bunch of friends. He sailed us to Caye Calker where we went to the Lazy Lizard and did a few shops. Then on the way back, stopped to let a bunch of us float/snorkel/drink/listen to music for about 45 min to an hour. What a fun time that was!

Just remember that more people have pictures from that day... wink And yes, it was a fun time but I bet Mary never lets us babysit again.

well, I can personally vouch for the fact that every year since, despite copious amounts of Belikin, that sweet mary has been in attendance and no wild Tiger screams have been uttered and no female feet were in danger of losing a toe or two.

You can also try George. He owns the rum punch sail boat. You can usually find at the dive shop close to cholo's. Old world sailing and he will do what you want. Great time and free rum punch.

I went to Caye Caulker for 4 weeks in february-march 2011. I did the full-day snorkel experience few times with different tour operators (sailboat and boat). My best of the best is definitely the one with Steve Wright from Seahawk on his sailboat ''Blackhawk''. I have been surprised how professional was the excursion, good food, safe trip, respectful guides (Steve, Chucky and Charlie) with womans... It have been my best experience from my entire month in the island. The good thing with them is that we are never 25-30 on the sailboat, the max is around 18 but usually around 10-15, it's a perfect group ! You can contact him at seahawksailingbelize@yahoo.com Go with them, you won't regret it !!!

Now this sounds like fun (the sailing, snorkeling, drinking and music part - not Otter's stake in fame wink ) Anyway, does anyone know if Steve and "no Rush" are still around?

I think he's still there. Go to the dock about 9:00am and ask around. His two brothers used to crew for him, lots of fun !

We too have sailed many times with Steve and No Rush. He has told us he can take up to 20 people, but I think that would be pretty crouded. We have usually gone with 10 or 12 and that is a nice group. They also provide a terrific meal on board.

Does anybody know how to contact Capt. Rick Bevan? Is his Kat, Katkandu, ready to charter? I am trying to contact him for a trip to SP in June. Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance for your effort!

Ernie,

I never add anything to the cost of the trip.

There are several guides on the island who have asked me to book them and add my commission. I refuse. If they do not want to pay my commission, I just book other guides.

The rates on my website are mostly correct except for the Reel Lady which is now $350US 1/2 day and $650US full day Up to 6 people.
See the topic on gas at the pump for the reasons.

Having trouble getting the site updated.

Where did you get your info?

Also, No Rush is a nice trip, I have done it myself.

Steve, I agree the "No Rush" is a great trip. However, I disagree with your comment about you're add on's. It would be better to discuss this in private.
