First visit to Punta Gorda in all these years and must say it was a very pleasant surprise. We attended the Battle of the Drums and although we didn't survive the whole night the talent was unbelievable and what was brilliant was that most of the drummers were young guys keeping their tradition flowing. Was amazed at all there is to do in the area and the best part there are more bars per person than I would have to guess anywhere else in Belize!

T42, I was there last year..it was something to hear and see. Punta Gorda is a great place to visit and off the beaten path. I feel lucky that I also got out to the crocodile sanctuary. Anyone who is interested, I definitely recommend a stay at Hickatee Cottages...beautiful place. We heard drumming and monkeys far into the night...very cool!
