Very interesting //ambergriscaye.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/394118 in the San Pedro Daily today... Obviously the author has no clue as to the detriment offshore drilling will do to the reef. After 18 yrs in the offshore oilfield industry, i can personally tell him or her that there is ZERO chance that there will NOT be oil spilled during the course of drilling and production.. It is just impossible. The corporations talk the talk but its the people in the field that do the work, and there will be oil spilled, its just part of business. Believe me...!! I see it ALL THE TIME..!!!! This article actually believes that Belize, or anybody, can actually drill and produce oil without a spill, but it just doesn't happen. TWO thumbs up for the World Heritage Center. Somebody has to stand up for a change and this is great that they will make a stand. Don't be fooled that jeapordising the reefs for profit will somehow SAVE Belize. With the storms and day to day problems that exist in the oilfield industry, oil will be spilled, its part of the business....
