i have made several trips by there in the last few months and it was deserted. one lone guard at the entrance.
you can never get any facts from these people so all we have a rumors.
one was they were running low on cash {that always comes up}
but just last week i saw a bus unload some workers as i drove by.
but they still have a loooooooong way to go before all those jumbo jets from Europe and Canada and points beyond start landing 15 a day.

It is just so foolish, no international flights into Belize even with the "huge" improvements and money invested in the existing airport. Who really thinks international flights will come into even smaller Placencia with the same high costs for international flights and not enough interest to make it feasable?
