Thanks to everyone for replies. I'm scheduled to travel to Cozumel on Thursday. Had planned on getting down to Xcalak on Friday but guess we'll be staying in Coz. We own Cielos Azules (property about 6 miles north of town)and I'll be trying to make contact. If I hear anything, I'll pass it on.

Hi Joel. Best wishes for your trip. I remember checking out the Cielos Azules website a year ago and seeing your photos of the clean up after Hurricane Mitch. Best of luck when you manage to get down there. And yes, any info you get would be great. Maybe I'll meet you on the beach someday.

Costa de Cocos
Just received this from Dave and Ilana at Costa de Cocos....

We are planning to stay on schedule and hope to open on Nov 1st. We have a
crew here of 12+ guys all working, we were in the process of remodeling and
expanding, so everything was put away....
We lost most of the dock, dive shop and wind generator. But we still have
all the equipment and enough of the pier to get in and out of the
boats...so I really dont see any problems. Not as pretty as it was before,
lost some sand and beach...but overall, not so bad.
