Spear fishing is illegal there but this device has been approved by the powers that be. Those hunting Lion Fish with this device must be approved though.

They are selling spears at captain Sharks.
Everyone i know has one and is at killing as many as possible.
restrictions on spearing seem to lifted in the light of this invasion of Lionfish.
