Rumor has it that The Reef Village Resort has been shut down by the BTB (tourism Board)...any updates would be appreciated. I have lots of customers planning on a return trip there.

Anyone with any info? I have some people staying there in February.

Just imagine!

I was told that police went by and put up some signs this morning. The person said that only the pool & restaurant were going to be closed. This is what a police officer told her. Who knows if its true or not. Probably going to be some articles on it tonight or tomorrow.

I'm not suprised. In a way, it's a good thing for the owners, now we can do what we need to do to make it a nice place to own. We need to get him away from the management so we can handle the money properly, make repairs where needed and move forward. Perhaps we can improve the reputation of this area if he's not in the picture.

How do the owners get control if the resort gets taken for taxes gotta tell you freaking out and have not heard from anyone from management or HOA.

If I were to speculate - if the pool and restaurant have been shut down that would sound like a liquor license or health violation.

I think it was BTB - related. Could they really have the authority to shut down a business while investigating a concern?

Not getting in to it here, but there are things in the works, and anyone who has purchased there is aware of the issues. I don't think it will be closed for long, so no worries here. Besides, Jeff always has a way of landing on his feet...

I would totally trust what Pam says. I hope what ever is causing the "scare" goes away. Lord knows we don't need any more bad vibes around there. I know as an owner it's tiring to constantly have people condeming the place....it is out of our control, and until it is IN our control, please consider those of us who have purchased there when you speak of it.
Now, with that being said, I hope everyone enjoys the Tiki Bar and the Movie...

I am glad this is resolved I am so looking forward to being there as owner for a long time. We will be there Feb 17th and cant wait to be warm.

I'm with you, Suecate. We were there for Christmas but it was pretty cool, breezy, overcast. I need some sunshine now....looking for good airfares to get there.
