where is best to rent a kayak in San Pedro? Are they only available on the lagoon side or both lagoon and reef? what should I be paying for, say, a half-day? I'm at Ruby's in March. Thanks

There is a water toys rental place about 100 feet north along the beach on front of the Holiday Hotel which is right next door to Ruby's. I am not sure what they charge and you can use it on the reef side. I am not aware of any rentals on the lagoon side.

We just rented kayaks last Saturday from the above-mentioned place. Don't know the name. Very convenient for you if you are staying at Ruby's. Almost right in front of you. Directly in front of Celi's Restaurant/Holiday Hotel. It was $15 US per kayak, per hour, even for two people on the tandum kayaks. Additional time at a reduced rate. You can also rent snorkeling gear for (I think) $7.50 US per hour, or bring your own. There are buoys out there you can tie up to if you want to get out and snorkel or take a dip. We were able to kayak out to the reef, enjoy it for several minutes, and then kayak back in under an hour. Very enjoyable. The beach area and water is very pretty right there. Nice for a dip to cool off or sun bathe. Enjoy!
