Thanks a lot Diane! I appreciate the response.
One question - Will a Canadian have trouble finding a hotel job once I'm legally allowed to work in Belize? Or even a nice restaurant? What I've read tells me that my prospective employer will have to apply to hire me and that no locals can be available to take the position. Does this make it super tough for me to find work? Okay, I guess that's 2 questions.
Have a great day!
Kelly.
Hi Kelly
So many factors affect whether it would work for you or not .... ultimately you DO have some savings to tide you over whilst you are seeking a place to be and something to do (which a lot of folks don't). I'd suggest that you make your first trip for say, 30 days and do it at a good time for budget travel, like maybe June - August. People will have more time to visit with you and you'll get to see life at a more reasonable pace. Maybe something will happen that causes you to delay your return indefinitely - but if not you will have made some friends and have a sense of how to find a situation that does work for you. You won't have spent all your savings and you will have begun the adventure. If something good comes along, then grab it and stick with it and stay.
