Hello to everyone, its my first post so be gentle with me

I am looking for information about The Pinks family from Belize. My husband's uncle is Clifton Pinks born abt 1923 Belize: He left Belize in the 1940's and trained in the Canadian Airforce before joining the RAF and marrying an English girl and settling in England. He ended his career in the RAF in 1978 but was then part of Commonwealth Council for ex-servicemen for Belize.

If anyone has any info on his family or can point me in the direction of any resources, I would be grateful.

Cheers
Jan, England smile

There was a cricket player named Clifton Pinks. I'll see what I can find.

There's a Pinks Alley in Belize City.

Several years ago, I was at the Mormon Family History Centre in Belize City, and there were some early Belizean records on mircofiche. I didn't take much notice because I wasn't researching anyone in Belize. But, usually what one Family History Centre has, they all have, so find the closest one to you, and they should have the microfiche.

Try to contact the author of this article in the Amandala newspaper:

I know some of the older cricketers in Belize City, but I don't think they have email.

I just did a search on Ancestry.com and found a Clifton Norman Rhya Pinks, born in Belize City, British Honduras, who crossed the Mexican border to the USA.

Jan,
I just found your website and your extensive research including the photo of Clifton.
I'll have to try and contact some of the people I know in Belize City.

Or, you could try putting a notice in a couple of the local newspapers.

Big Thanks for the response - I am grateful of any help - however small it may be - thank you.

From searching the internet and paying for an archived newspaper obituary for his brother i have gleaned the following info:

His Mexico Border Pass states his father was Alfred Pinks:

The Obituary states the following brother's & sisters - all in USA now:
Karl H E Pinks born Belize City c 1930 died Florida 1999
Roy Pinks
Wendell Pinks
Carmilita Pinks
Gwendolyn Pinks (now Reaneau)
Sheila Pinks

I am looking for any ancestry please.
Cheers
Jan xx

There are plenty of Reneau's in Belize, should be easy to track backwards thru them. Which Reneau did she marry?

Hi Again

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for all their help so far - I have had a few suggestions on here and also via personal e-mail, I am very gratful.

Here is some updated information:

Clifton's father was one of four siblings who came to Belize from the West Indies. They were Alfred, Sydney, Charles (Pawge) and Mack (Kizzy: Alfred had the children listed, I am now told that there were several different mothers, Lillian Leslie and Amy DeNegra are two that I know of so far;

Sydney had two children Carlton Seaford Allan Pinks and Loderick, both born Belize.

Charles had four children Joseph, Oliver, Catherine and Idolly.

Kizzy had no offspring.

Thanks once again to everyone, and I am still on the look out for any morsals of info, however small.

Cheers
Jan
