from a friend....

San Ignacio downtown has two sewage outfalls in the Macal River. Between the Hawksworth bridge and the low bridge. My wife and I the other week were trying to get to the market by walking along the river bank, but couldn´t as the gullies used to allow the sewage and rain runoff, made the shoreline impassable. This is one of the most tourist scenic paths available between the new library and the outdoor market. It is a sad shame. About the third time, my wife and I had to back track to the center of the town and go around to reach the market. We forget this fact when strolling the river bank. The San Ignacio Town Council need picturesque curved bridges over these two gullies for beauty and tourism.
