Boy..that seems like such a great deal...I have heard for years what a party the Burrell Boom horse races are. We have never gone because the water taxi then the bus and return back makes it at least a two day trip. Think we may go..you guys are making it to easy.

This sounds like a great time for a great deal....Is there more info on the track? Do they hold regular events for races/wagering? Do they have food stands? Maybe Tropic flies in the area......?? Sorry I'm not familiar with the Burrell Boom area..

It is a lot of fun and it is easy to do it this way. Once at Boom, we dock at Black Orchid Resort, you can eat here or grab a cold drink. We have a shuttle ready to take us the short trip but long walk to the race track. At the track there is food and local wine for sale. Bets can be made with the owner of the horse. Along the river there is iguanas, crocodiles, monkeys, bird life, manatees and dolphins. Trip leaves at 8:30 am and returns by 6 pm to Caye Caulker. Bring a light jacket for the way back. Water provided on board the boat. There is no cover for the boat, so make sure you have plenty of sunblock and a hat. email me with any questions or call or stop by the office. we want to get confirmations by Saturday 12noon in order to be prepared for the trip. We need a minimum of 20 people in order to pay gas expense, captain, side man and transfer/entrance.

A great trip. We got to see all the wildlife as promised except dolphins. The horse races where delayed due to the Ruta Maya. Some of the horses got delayed in the traffic and missed post time. Down by the river, lots of people cheering on the canoers as they came in one by one. Today is the final leg of the race. Thank you to all. Thanks to all involved, especially Heather for putting this trip together! We have always wanted to do the Belize River, but to also be a part of the canoe race was the icing on the cake! Great weather, smooth boat ride, and lots of smiles. Enjoyed by all.
