From a friend....
This is an email to a number of folks in multiple Caribbean countries. What we all have in common is our mutual efforts against the lionfish. As many of you know I have been actively pursuing information from others countries in the region. I found something from the USVI that may be useful in the short and long term. There is an organization called CORE. They have some posters and printed materials (on plastic for divers and fishermen) that may be of interest to your programs...or maybe not. CORE has donated some images and video to me for the lionfish project.
Nevertheless, I want to introduce you to Joe Guli. He is in the USVI and is a part of the CORE Foundation. They are more centered on just eradication rather than eradication through consumption. They have a problem ciguatera on that side and that is the reason they pursue the lionfish using this strategy.
I have talked to Joe on the phone and was amazed I could call an island in the eastern Caribbean from the states just like I was calling across town.
They have a page where you can look at some of their work etc.
