I subscribe to Frommers Budget Travel (www.frommers.com) and have gotten some great deals from them.

The new issue ( just out last week ) lists a package to ambergris caye starting at $590 per person for r/t air from new york, 7 nights at tropica ( I stayed right next door at banana beach and loved the way tropica looked.. even had dinner there and it was good).

There are a bunch of add on airfares from other cities with the most expensive being $894 bucks from portland/seattle. $650 from Dallas, and $860 from LA. These prices are for travel from mid august to the end of september. For July 1 - Aug 15th, add 50 bucks per person.

Glad to hear you liked the price.. I'll probably be going back down from august 23rd to sept 3rd, the prices are just too good.

I was going to go to roatan, honduras, but the airfares are just too high.

I'm thinking of going the last week or so of Sept (maybe 9/18-27). I called Capricorn yesterday and am waiting a response, but the lady there said they work with other hotels, not just Tropica. So, maybe the deal will be even better, and I think I'd prefer to stay in town this time anyway. Thanks again for passing this along. I got back less than two weeks ago and can't wait to go back. Even Sept. seems too long... IJ

Wow that is a great deal. Tropica alone is worth more than that for a week!
