As most of you know I am a candidate for Area Rep for Belize Rural South. I am very interested to hear from Caye Caulker residents what they feel are the priorities for the Village going into the future.
Some of your problems are the same as San Pedro but I am sure you have specific concerns as well. Thanks, Mike Campbell

It would be nice if our area representative visited Caye Caulker more than once in 4 years. I don't know the exact number of visits, but it wasn't very often. We are like the forgotten stepchild.

It is worth noting that we don't do Party politics here much.

Yeah, I dont do party politics either. PNP is a group of independents that have common values and goals but no obligation to follow a particular party line. We do have some positions we all agree on. Most local affairs are best controlled by local interests. Our two party system has not given us what we need. I was intending to run as an independent but hooked up with PNP because we share common ideology. It gives me the chance to be able to put forth some of these positions on a national basis and have help. The party will support 100% what ever we think is best for us. Does not matter if you belong to a party, its how you vote that counts. As I dont live on Caye Caulker I do not know all the problems I am sure.
