the taste is remarkably like a grape (smaller, larger seed and and not so fleshy). I have sea grape wine brewing from last summer -trying to age it for a year- so far it tastes like a light weight fruity red.

PS: I have lemon grass and passion fruit plants also. I have great friends who share smile

I know your where making a joke in that those things just grow here with out any attention, but their is some wisdom in that.
Why not plant things like the Mayan Chia for a green leaf vegie, it doesn't need much attention and grows wild on the island, or cocoplum.
Lots of salt tolerant vegies that survive here with out having to fight an uphill battle.

I let the birds do most of my planting for me. LOL
I have Papayas growing in the most unusual places.
I had problems with my lime tree until a visitor told me the soil was too alkaline and I needed to feed it coffee grounds. That did the trick - it has greened right up and grown a lot. Now if it would only produce.
A Tamarind tree sprouted in a good place.
OH HOW WE NEED THE RAIN.

We will not be back until Aug.1, but have starts of a lot of plants we would be happy to share with anyone who can use them. Like Scuba lady, discovered coffee grounds to be great compost, for me the plants that were also deficient in iron.
