Opening ceremony is scheduled for Thursday night at the Panama National Convention Center where the Belize delegation will get to march into the center along with other Central American countries. On Friday, the group will get to participate in a number of meetings and seminars where Belize is expected to formally make a presentation to host the upcoming convention in 2012. During the night, the Lions from the region will get to enjoy a gala event, The Queen’s Banquet and Dance, an event in honor of the visiting Queens representing each participating country. On Saturday, Belize will participate in the cultural parade through the principal streets of Panama City as well as participate in the country’s booth competition. The Belize delegation will be serving various cuisines typical to our country, traditional home made sweets, local drinks as well as promoting products and sites from around Belize. The visiting Lions from around the region will also get to tour the Panama Canal, the Free Zone and other sites round the capital. Currently Belize has placed a bid to host the next convention in 2012, something that has never happened. During the various meetings, the announcement will be made as to the venue for the next convention schedule for 2012. The group returns on Monday.”
