The San Pedro Sailing Club in coordination with the Belize Sailing Association, a registered charity, are inviting all the children of San Pedro to the beach at Caribbean Villas for the revealing of San Pedro's very own Optimist fleet (small sailing boats).

Sunday 12th June - 11am till 3pm

Participation by your school is absolutely vital to ensure the success of this structured sail training program and we are asking that you extend this invitation to all your students, aged between 8 and 14. Parents are also invited.

It would be great if all Teachers could attend as this will show that the training program has the full backing of the school and they can also take on information that can be disseminated back to the students at a later time.

The students will be able to see first hand the boats and witness a number of demonstration races. Also and more IMPORTANTLY they will be able to register their interest with us so we can work out the logistics of completing the initial phases of the training program. If your students like what they see and show an interest please ask them to look out for the registration table, located on the beach, where we will be taking their names and ages.

There will also be an information desk where details of how the training will be coordinated and we will be able to discuss our aims and ambitions for the children of San Pedro. The key ones currently are to get a San Pedrano to represent Belize in the Optimist World Championship 2012 (Boca Chica, Dominican Republic) and ultimately the Olympics in 2016.

Many other activities have also been laid on to make sure that a fun day will be had by all. These include;

Demonstration Sailing Races
Hobie Cats will be available
Bouncy Castle (weather permitting)
Live Music
Corn Hole
Giant Jenger
Food Stalls (Full BBQ and Wade the Gringo Kids Meals)
Full Bar
Information Table
Registration Table (very important)

Please respond by email to confirm receipt of this important message and confirm expected number of student/teacher attendees as we need to plan logistics.

Kind regards
