We returned from AC last Friday. Like everyone says, the people are friendly and the beer is cold. We stayed at Banana Beach and I must say it is a very nice property, although we would stay closer to town next time. I think my favorite place to eat, had to be Elvies. We had steak and shrimp at another place, I cant remember the name. Something like Crab Shack. They had everything from steak to pizza. We ate there one night and ordered pizza to our room another night. Best pizza I've ever had. We also had some of the best snorkeling ever. We've been to other places in the caribbean and it didn't measure up to this. We rented a golf cart one day and did some exploring. After seeing the north end and all of town, we went south. Cart broke down on us about 3 miles south of our room. We were fortunite enough to hitch a ride after walking about a mile or so. They adjusted the rate to make up for it. NO big deal. Next day we took the all day tour to Lamanai Ruins. It takes better part of 3 hrs to get there and that is an adventure in it self. The ride back from the mainland about killed us all. The water was soooo rough. I've never been so glad to get off a boat. I spent the rest of the night in our room throwing up. I think it may have been something I ate. We have been around enough to know that sometimes things don't go as planned, so we made the best of it. We really enjoyed the island overall. The prices are still reasonable and its not a tourist trap like so many of the others. We saw property for sale, and I would like to have inquired about some of it. Is there a link that shows realestate on the island and what it cost? I was impressed enough to think about purchasing some property if its not above my level. Thanks Mike
