It has been a little while since we last enjoyed a pot luck get-together. At the end of this month we plan to have a party and mix in a little bit of business by conducting our nomination process for the upcoming SACNW Executive Committee elections.

When: Sunday July 31st, 2011 at 11am til 3pm

Where: Caribe Island Resort

Dress: Casual beach wear - bathing suits for the pool and sea. We hope you will participate in the beach volley ball and miscellaneous games.

Who: All SACNW members, residents, part-time residents, patrol staffers, caretakers, rental management companies and anyone that has helped us to keep our neighbourhood community spirit alive and well!

Please send a return email confirming if you can attend and how many people will be with you and indicate the type of dish you will be bringing. We need a head count to complete the final tally to ensure we have enough food, drinks, seating and fun games to accommodate everybody.

There will be a cash bar supplying beer, rum, soft drinks and water. The bar will be operated by SACNW and costs will be reasonable. Of course please feel free to bring your own beverages if you wish.

We will be serving barbecue chicken and shall ask all attendees to provide a particular dish to complement the meal. For those who cannot bring food or who wish to make a donation to the party we are suggesting a $20 cash donation which will be used towards purchasing supplies, paying for the table rentals etc.

Suggested sides include:

Fruit salad, Veggie salad, potato salad, coleslaw, garlic bread, mac 'n' cheese, baked beans, stewed beans, cheese dip and chips, rice and beans, tortillas, watermelon slices, green been casseroles etc. And of course we have a lot of members that love desserts so please bring cookies, brownies, cup cakes etc too.

Portions should be large.

We request that food be delivered to the Caribe Island Resort between 11am and noon. At noon we shall hold a short nomination ceremony. At 12:30pm food shall be enjoyed and then the fun will begin in earnest. We plan to enjoy a variety of beach games including volley ball and pool fun for the kids. There will be a raffle and a Chinese auction so please be sure to bring a little extra change so you can participate.

South AC Neighborhood Watch

We are expecting around 80 people to attend the pot luck beach party. For those members and invitees that have yet to confirm please call me asap. I have a list of items that are still needed.

We will be enjoying a jenga and tick tack toe party - prizes are $50 bar tabs at the Road Kill bar.

We are actively seeking prizes for the raffles and gift vouchers to give away as prizes.

This is shaping up to be a really fun event.

We are going to be conduction the nominations ceremony - so if you would like to run for the Executive committee this year please throw your hat in the ring.

We are trying to get the word out to all members to be sure to meet up this sunday - please spread the word.
