In the Roman Catholic, Central American Village of San Pedro when the church in the middle of the village begins ringing its bell on Sunday morning, Easter and several other holidays you know its time to come to Mass.
Mr.Guerrero or one of the older community leaders stands under the tower in the church yard and pulls the bells rope several times for these special call to worship occasions,
however, when you hear a single ring from the bell and its not a religious holiday, like today, the single ring every minute or so means someone in the village has died.

I was always sadden to hear the bell toll like this. Rest in Peace and my condolences to the family.

It is a reminder to seize the day. Carpi diem.
