I would like to know: What is a fair dollar-per-hour wage (in Belize $)to pay for miscellaneous unskilled labor. Specifically, I need to hire someone to weed my yard occasionally.

I would say $40 - $50 per day is a fair price for unskilled labor.

So if I offer $10 BZ PER HOUR, that would be considered more than fair .... actually twice the going rate?

More than fair, actually. Might I suggest offering something in the middle and bonus them if the job is done well.....

$7 an hour for unskilled physical labour is considered a fair rate out here on the island.

In other areas the wages vary and are often lower, but the cost of living in other areas is also lower.

How much would you pay someone to dredge your property (by canoe).

Usually that kind of thing is paid by the job or the day.
It is backbreaking work and paying "by the job" is usually the most fair and sensible.

Also note that dredging requires a permit.

I knew that regarding the permit. I was just wondering what would be my best option and least expensive option. Using someone to dredge or getting a dredging machine...
