I have always wanted to try Turducken and even roast one myself. I hope you have it again for the USA Thanksgiving on November 24th. I'll be there then.

In his 1807 Almanach des Gourmands, gastronomist Grimod de La Reynière presents his rti sans pareil ("roast without equal")- where the idea to put a duck and chicken inside a turkey. Turducken is a delicacy and a great recipe for celebrations such as Thanksgiving. In the United Kingdom, a turducken is a type of ballotine called a "three-bird roast" or a "royal roast".

We had a great evening and the Turducken was superb! We had to stop reservations at 4PM (an hour after my previous post) because the Portofino Restaurant was sold out. Next Turducken at American Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 24, 2011.
Thanks all, see you then!

No offence intended, and certainly to each their own, but turducken didn't do it for my taste buds. Guess I'm just a traditional gal, who likes her turkey at Thanksgiving. Chicken any other time, and duck, almost never.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?
