#421628 - 11/11/11 04:19 AM Road Grading North update

Tomorrow (Friday) we will continue with grading the road starting at 7am, provided it doesn't rain tonight. Just so everyone is aware the really deep spots that are still full of water will become a little sloppy when the earth is pushed into them. This is unavoidable and may cause a slight inconvenience for a couple of days until they dry out.

We will again give the road a chance to compact and dry and then do it again.

We will grade the road just past Captain Morgans. Unfortunately that is as far as we will be able to go.

A major player that we were hoping would contribute -Coco Beach/Belizean Shores do not wish to participate in this project. This therefore leaves the funding short to carry on any further.

Thanks again to those who have contributed

add to the list

White Sands Resort
Palapa Bar.

A big two thumbs up and Thanks to Grand Caribe who have gone above and beyond in contributing to the project.

And for the idiot who raced by me today and screamed "what a waste of time" I guess your not from Canada where we routinely shovel snow from our driveways and streets, knowing we will have have to do it again.

Wow! I had no idea you were going so far North. Looks like we will have a nice (or at least better) drive to White Sands 12/1!

Thank you!

I think this is great but still I am much further North than all of this. The Hole behind Journeys end, the mini-lagoon north of Mata Chica, the muck behind Mata Grande, ponds behind Casa Blanca and the deep mud behind La Perla still have traffic using the beach because the road is undooable. Its also sad the trash pick up project stopped from going more North because of road these conditions.
Hope the campaigns get to the North soon!

Diane's road report yesterday said that the Belizean Shores/ Cocobeach section was very nice. Why not skip that section and continue north?

I'm sure they will. I don't see that stopping them.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen and all the ships at sea.

Here is a road update.

We made it as far as White Sands today. one of the big holes there gave us a lot of trouble and we had to fill and fill and fill.

It's a little soft in that area just by white Sands so easy going.

We didn't make it as far as Captain Morgans as we punctured one of the tires on the grader. It will have to be repaired.

Well we got caught with a flat, how 'bout that....
But babies, don't you panic.

By the light of the night, it'll be alright,

I'm getting a satanic, mechanic.

We'll be back at it next week.

Big thanks to Dale at FUNKY MONKEY for providing free lunch today for the crew.

Thursday night we too had one tire completely flattened, enough to make us leave the band wagon at Capt Morgan's. Inspection the next day showed the second tire gouged beyond repair but able to get us home after replacing the flat. But the road is AMAZING right now. Thank you for doing all of the work and looking after those of us who need to use that road

Having used this back and forth from the North since Thursday, I must say I appreciate all the hard work going into it. Much improved. Kudos CaptHollywood!
