Mr. Sukhnandan obtained five (5) Grade Iís in the following subjects: Caribbean Studies, Communication Studies, Physics Unit 1, Physics Unit II, Pure Mathematics Unit 1 and one (1) Grade II in Pure Mathematics Unit 2. Mr. Sukhnandan also achieved first place subject award in Belize in Caribbean Studies, Communication Studies, Pure Mathematics Unit 1, Physics Unit 1 and Physics Unit 2.

The Ministry of Education & Youth and the CXC National Committee of Belize are also pleased to announce that Mr. Romel Rudon of St. Johnís College is the Most Outstanding Candidate (i.e. first place) in Belize for the May-June 2011 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations

Mr. Rudon obtained fourteen (14) Grade Iís at the General Proficiency in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, English A, English B (Literature), Geography, Information Technology, Integrated Science, Mathematics, Physics, Religious Education, Social Studies, Spanish, Physical Education and Sport and Human and Social Biology and one (1) Grade II in Caribbean History.

Mr. Rudon also achieved first place in Belize in two Subject Groups (i.e. Humanities and Sciences) and is the top candidate for Information Technology in the country.

Mr. Aaron Stock of St. Johnís College is the Outstanding Candidate (second place) in Belize for the May-June 2011 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations.

Mr. Stock attained fourteen (14) Grade Iís at the General Proficiency in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, English A, English B (Literature), Geography, Information Technology, Integrated Science, Mathematics, Physics, Religious Education, Social Studies, Spanish, Physical Education and Sport and Human and Social Biology and one (1) Grade II in Caribbean History.

Mr. Jonas Sanchez, a student of Edward P. Yorke High School, will receive the award for the most Outstanding Candidate in the region in Technical/Vocational studies. Jonas has been invited to attend the Ceremonial Opening of Council to be held in T&T in December 2011 to receive his award. In addition, he will also be receiving Subject Group Award for the Technical Vocational subjects locally.

Mr. Taze Russell Smith of Edward P. Yorke High School who will be receiving Subject Group Award in Business.

The Seventeenth Annual CXC National Award Ceremony is scheduled to be held on November 23, 2011 at the Bliss Centre for the Performing Arts in Belize City. At this yearís Award Ceremony the CXC National Committee will present several categories of awards to outstanding students in the CSEC Examinations. This year three hundred ninety-five (395) Certificates of Excellence, 4 Subject Group Awards and 31 Individual Subject Awards will be presented to deserving CSEC candidates.

The CXC National Committee will also recognize candidates who performed commendably in the CAPE Examinations. Three (3) candidates will receive CAPE Certificate of Excellence whilst fourteen (14) candidates will receive Certificates of Recognition. Awards will also be given to the countryís top CAPE candidates in 30 Individual Subjects.

The Ministry of Education & Youth and the CXC National Committee of Belize take this opportunity to congratulate all students who excelled in the CSEC and CAPE Examinations and to recognize the parents, principals, deans and teachers who were instrumental in preparing the students to sit the examinations. The May-June 2011 CXC sitting has once again served to give our students regional prominence and recognition and to validate the work of all our education stakeholders.

The CSEC and CAPE examinations are recognized regionally and internationally.
