"I still do the Blue Hole occasionally even though I now find it rather boring – The next two dives are what makes the trip worth while. Even better is going out to Long Caye for a few nights. This way we dive Turneff on our way out and way back, are at the hole first thing in the morning before the day boats get there and get to do some of the other really great sites along the west wall of Long Caye." We have spent a couple of days out there diving courtesy of a TMM charter and we have taken the one day trip...Highly recommend the overnight stays along with the extra dives.....I went back and checked my log....(Sunto D9) says my depth was 143' both times.

In Palau there are 3 blue holes close together. The one that you dive into bottoms out at less than 100' but at 80' there is an opening that takes you out onto the reef where you get to finish your dive by gradually ascending. BEAUTIFUL

If you miss the opening on the way down it is no big deal as you land on sand.

My apologies Harriette, this one got passed me. Sounds like a great dive....Probably should add it to our list...How is the water temperature in that part of the Pacific?
