I know airfare to Belize tends to be more expensive than many people would typically expect. I set a low fare alert several years ago with the travel site I typically use. Ordinarily, airfare for me is $600+ before any taxes and fees. I set the alert to let me know when it gets to $500 or less. I recieved the low fare alert email a few weeks ago and booked two tickets for about $600 each including all taxes and fees. I figured that was a pretty darned good deal, especially since our last trip was over $750 for each of us.

I just got ANOTHER low fare alert. If I hadn't already booked our trip, we could have gotten airfare to BZE at $400 each, all taxes and fees included! That's an incredible price. The cheapest I've ever flown to BZE was $525 and that was almost 10 years ago.

If you're interested in going to Belize, check out American Airlines and/or Travelocity. That's who has the low fare for me. You might find an incredible deal. As is typically the case for the best fares, you'll need to fly M-Th. This fare sale appears to be from January 3, 2012 until February 16, 2012.

I just did a quick search (wishful thinking on my part). Found $369 R/T ORD-BZE(taxes & fees included) for January 20 - 30. True, most of the return flights are overnight, but I did find a return that was not overnight for the $369 price.

Certainly wish I could take advantage...

from a friend.....

Finally - a real sale to Belize with no B.S. It only took a year and a half....
Terms vary but I just did a test-book via Travelocity on American Airlines.

Leaving mid-week the end of January 25th-31st from DCA Reagan National and returning mid-week (connecting through Miami):

Cost: $291.60 (what?!) + $77.75 = $369.35

Cost was $362.35 from BWI Thurgood Marshal!

Looks like this goes through March. I wouldn't wait, I already see lots of gap dates in there....

It's on from Houston too ... $367 R/T.
