I'm curious -- I've always read that rainy season in Belize lasts through December, but November seemed pretty dry overall, especially the second half of the month. How much rain can Ambergris Caye expect in a typical December? We've never been here this time of year.

Emily, I wouldn't say that the rainy season is over but Dec. is a transition month which has much less rain in total than November. The chart at this site tells the story but of course these are averages.

We usually get a pretty good amount of rain in January.

We receive about 60 inches of rain per year. And as you may have experienced sometimes as much as 40 inches of that rain occurs over a period of 4 or 5 days.

I'll see if I can find the rain chart for exact rain fall at my house and will post the link.
