Last night, San Pedro's favorite weekly newspaper, The San Pedro Sun, hit the streets in a bedazzled golf cart cavalcade to find the very best holiday decorations. No easy task. There are so many beautifully lit houses, so many semi-hidden displays in back yards, on decks, in secret courtyards that this was an all night affair.
Lots and lots of strong rum punch was consumed to insure the judging would go just right. (The brew was loaded on the cart in a HUGE cooler, the kind that they dump on the coaches head after winning the Superbowl. And was refilled before the night was over. The SP Sun even assigned a staff member to ensure no cup was ever empty. Oh my.)
The staff of San Pedro Sun and family took the three judges (SanPedroScoop was one of them!) on a very comprehensive tour. We drove through town, all the way up to the bridge, back down on the beach side keeping our eyes peeled for an hidden gems. We hit San Pedrito, San Pablo, Escalante and DFC. No stone was left unturned.
