Saga Humane Society Monthly Cook-Off Fundraiser

January 13, 2012 6 – 9 p.m.
Hosted by Mojito Bar

PASTA is the theme.

Mojito’s is the place to be on Friday the 13th of January to kick off the first monthly Saga Cook-off of 2012.

Mojito’s will serve a special ‘Meow-jito’ for $5.00BZ. Or maybe you would prefer a Ruff-n-Rum or a Barkarita. Which ever is your preference, please be sure to come out and support our local Humane Society. A fun evening for the all!

Saga Humane Society needs your support to operate the Shelter. Without fundraising & your generous donations, Saga would not be able to care for the homeless, sick and/or abused animals of San Pedro Town.

Thank you for your continued support.

ONLY $10.00 BZ to sample all the entries! You vote for the winner!
*Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place.
*Great Raffles!

To enter a dish, please call the clinic at 226-3266, or contact any Saga representative. Your dish needs to serve 65 bite size servings. Registration is not required, but encouraged. Please bring your entry by 6:00 p.m. on the night of the event.

Saga Humane Society Pasta Cook-off
What a fun night! We rode our bikes into town early Friday evening to attend the Saga Humane Society's pasta cook-off at Mojito's Bar and Grill on the San Pedro beachfront. These monthly events, featuring a different food theme each time, support a wonderful cause, and really, who can resist pasta? In addition to pasta, there were special prices on "Meow-itos" (mojitos), "Bark-aritas", and other drinks.

Saga Humane Society would like to give a big thanks to Mojito Bar and their great staff for hosting our Pasta Cook-off. Friday the 13th turned out to be a lucky day for the Saga shelter animals with an anonymous donor pledging to match all proceeds from this event; Saga was able to raise just over $3,000. There was a great turnout of visitors and locals who enjoyed all the fine Pasta dishes presented.

Winners were: 3rd Place: Chicken Fettuccini ala Parmesan from Faride Salinas who received a Cutlery Set; 2nd Place: Pineapple Chipotle Pasta from Xenika Nicole Armstrong who received a lovely set of 8 Pub Glasses; and 1st Place: Pork Chow Mein from Sharon Metcalfe who Received a Toaster Oven.

We would also like to thank our other entries for their wonderful dishes. Pasta Fiesta Salad – Pineapples Restaurant; Dill Macaroni Salad – LouAnn LeClaire; Bow Ties a Ragu de Tonno – Rosa LaRosa; Shrimp Roulade with Prosecco Tarragon Cream Sauce – Chap Ross & Kathy Neimic; Tia’s Salad – Tia Hindson; and Veggie Callaloni – Mathieu’s Deli.

Raffle Prizes: Kim Gonzalez won a Full Groom from Pampered Paws sponsored by George’s Kitchen. A visiting tourist won a Rod & Reel courtesy of Captain Sharks. And Eliza and her parents Jessica Waters & Stephen Card won Dinner for 2 plus a Mojito courtesy of Mojito Bar.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this event a success.
