How the hell can there be a tsunami watch for Ewa Beach, my old hometown on Oahu, in the Pacific, with a huge continent between there and here. With a warning attached for the Caribbean... Someone please explain this to me!!! Unless its passing through the Panama Canal..

Glad the tsunami isn't coming anywhere close to Belize.

Warnings are important though. When the big quake hit Japan last year, they casually warned west coast US - but it hit harder than we expected.

Amanda and Simon got me straightened out after a pretty funny exchange on the Ambergris board..its the SOUTH Shetlands off Antarctica, which have at least a shot of causing a tsunami in the Caribbean basin if the quake were big enough, which this one was not....

I have been remanded to remedial geography class and a refresher in reading comprehension as a result of my gaffs...Amanda was also kind enough to offer one of her old family remedies to reorient and recalibrate myself but its a tad too early in the day to use...

Ok!! Does also whispering the phrase " There is no place like Nome* " each time I spin and click make the spell more effective?
