This afternoon while in town on a rare day off, I ran into good friends/loyal repeat customers...

"I did not know you guys were in town!" I said enthusiastically...

"That's odd," they replied, "as we ordered some of your food from Lagniappe and it was delivered to us...???"

To anyone who may have ordered food "from Rojo Lounge" via Lagniappe Provisioning recently (burritos, ceviche, etc) please note, the food you received and were charged for was not prepared by us.

We already spoke w/ Lagniappe... we're still awaiting a satisfactory explanation from them. Needless to say, we are no longer going to be working with Lagniappe anymore...

Apologies to anyone who ordered anything thinking it was prepared by us and who were disappointed in what they received.

Resolution = easy... in that we're no longer going to work with them.

The explanation we received was that "an employee of theirs, whose first name they gave us but whose last name they 'could not remember' was given the order and given $$$ to go shopping." Evidently the employee either had permission to source items ordered where they saw fit, or, there was not any oversight and checking of what was purchased before the order was delivered to their customer. Neither bodes terribly well in terms of my confidence to entrust them with our reputation, something which we've worked fastidiously for the last 7 years to build and maintain.

They claim that this was an isolated incident, which perhaps it was, but still, some things don't add up: you give staff $ to go shopping, you don't check receipts, you don't know where they got things from, etc?

If anyone wants our food, contact us directly, we're more than happy to make stuff and pack/provision things to go.

So I just got another message (below) from someone who bought food from Lagniappe in November (burritos) who were told that they were from Rojo Lounge when they were not. So much for Lagniappes assurance to us that this was an "isolated incident." All I can say is a big WTF Lagniappe? What gives??? Screwing over your customers (and suppliers) is no way to run a business.

===============

Jeff, I don't know how long they have been doing this, but when we were this past November, we ordered a supply from them of frozen burriotos and they stated it was from Rojo. They were very dry and fell apart. Just wondering if this was theirs or yours. If it was theirs, I'm going to request a refund. I'll be back this Saturday
