I shop in Chetumal every couple of months. I was surprised this trip by the new law that you can spend only $250 us per person per store per day. Purchases over $250 must be paid in pesos. There were 2 of us shopping so we managed. Its good to know these things so you can plan on buying pesos for large purchases.

Are you allowed to bring Alcohol back on day trips? Also curious What kind of stuff islanders go shopping to Chetumal for?
