The Belize National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) advertised a Maya festival at Cahal Pech for Saturday Jan 21 2012. This was supposed to be one of several Maya cultural activities for this important year in Maya culture. Many people showed up. NICH completely dropped the ball – there was no festival and NICH failed to inform anyone that they couldn’t handle planning the event. Even the staff at the ruins had no idea about anything. Very unsat for a group like NICH.

What a shame, not good at all. Glad I was not there yet. They really need to get their act together. Events like this was suppose to be should be good for tourism.
