We are heading down that way on Tuesday for 7 days and was just curious if traveller's checks are widely accepted? Don't want to have any problems once were down there. Thanks for any info.
A friend I traveled with used traveler's checks. No problems anywhere. I personally used cash and found it more convenient (you don't have to cart your passport with you everywhere, etc). I don't think you'll have a problem. Have FUN!!!!!!!!!
I used traveler's checks. I felt uncomfortable carrying around my passport, so I wrote the number on a slip of paper and carried it with me - NO PROBLEMS
I did what Erica suggested. I didn't always get asked for my passport number but often enough that I was glad to have the slip of paper with me. I eventually had it memorized but I was there for 3 weeks.
A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?
Never once did I use my passport to write a travelers check. Driver's license was good enough, and some places didn't ask for anything except where you were staying. No problem!
Another idea is to make a photocopy of your ID (passport or Drivers licence) and carry that instead of the real thing. I found that it varied by vendor whether they wanted any ID. Have a great time.. you'll soon be hooked like 99% of the visitors.. Cheers Gail
