I was bike riding last week on the road north by The Blue Reef
and saw a snake on the road it was Black with Yellow stripping
about 4-6 feet long and maybe 2-3 inches thick. Does anyone
know what kind of snake this is and if you could post photo so
I may confirm

We have mexican Vine Snakes that are about as round as your finger and very long, thus the name Vine Snake', pretty much harmless unless your a frog or lizard.

Sounds to me like a Boa constrictor.

I doubt if it was a boa given the description. Might be a ratsnake though. Did it look like this?

Did the OP ever clarify if the stripes were longitudinal or lateral? I was too lazy to ask...

Someone said it sounded like a black and yellow mangrove snake.
Never heard of it. Has any one else?

I looked it up but the only reference i found was for a south east asian species...?

For purposes of discussion here's a pic of a boa as suggested by TravelinMan1, not exactly black and yellow but eyewitness accounts do vary! lol wink
