The departure fee is the fee paid when non-resident foreigners exit Belize. The fee is BZ$30 payable in BZ$ or US$ (US$15).

In addition, there is a PACT fee of BZ$7.50, and some other fees when departing from the international airport.

This site explains the fees for land borders...

The fee is more than that if you fly out of BZE. American is including it in their ticket prices now.

The departure tax is $39.25USD. It's been included in CO prices for years. Most recently it's also include in AA. Don't know about Delta.

In my years of traveling to BZE on AA, they've included it, then didn't, then did, didn't, etc. Even if you call the airline itself, you may not get the right answer. Best to save the dollars (tucked away in your passport) and if not required, spend it at the gift shops or Jets on your way out (or save it for your next visit ;-) )

True..on any given departure, somtimes its included, sometimes its not. Not sure but it may depend on what web site you buy your tickets from.

If you book any AA flight out of BZE through AA.com, the departure tax WILL be included. Has so for the past 2+ years.

Nothing with that has changed.

I believe there has been an industry regulation recently where all airlines and all booking engines have to include all taxes and fees in their prices.

Now that you say that, when we came back(AA) a couple of weeks ago, I don't even remember seeing the "toll booth" on that side.

It used to be that you had to pay CASH for the departure fee, but when we were there last November, they starting taking Credit Cards!
