I was just wondering if anyone thought it would be neccessary to have reservations on tropic air? We have now a total of 8 people all on the same flight from Wisconsin and didn't know if we all could just catch the plane to San Pedro. Thanks!

With 8 traveling I think its best to be confirmed and ticketed. If you'd like I can make the res and ticket on-line. Drop me a note with names and arrival/depart times.

Ybon,

I just emailed Tropic air to make my reservations for December and they responded back to me in less than a half hour. I have my confirmed reservations and can either fax my charge card authorization to them and have tickets mailed to me or pay at the counter when I arrive. It's soooo easy!

I agree with Gela... you can get your tickets yourself and it will be much cheaper. I believe the tickets directly from Tropic are about $80...

Is there much to choose from between Maya Island Air and Tropic Air? And with a group, does it make sense to take a taxi to the municipal airport?

I *think* that Tropic has larger planes (seating, I would guess, about 15-20?). I only saw small (4-6 seaters) at Maya. Perhaps they have larger ones, but I never saw them.

Personally, to me, it would not be worth the few dollars saved to go over to the Muni airport for all of the hassle. But only you know if it is worth it to you. You do get to see a bit of Belize City, though.

To land at International, the get your bags, then get a taxi, then go to Mun, then fly back to International is just way too much.... take either Maya Island or Tropic right at the International... you'll be much happier and it's only a few bucks extra. Trust me, it's money well spent.
