I was very impressed with Danny when he broke out the sprayer in APRIL of all months after we'd had a day of rain followed by a bad mosquito outbreak. He eradicated the problem pronto.

The previous mayor would have waited until June at the earliest.

It would help everything if the Town Board would pump out the puddles with standing water. We used to do that and it helps the mosquitos and roads. Also some residential lots fill up with no drainage and breed mosquitos. Mosquitos are on a two week cycle, if spraying is done every two weeks they are controlled. The ones we are killing now have laid eggs that will hatch in about two weeks. Spray on a cycle for best results.

1. There are thousands of puddles on this island so that's not really a practical solution especially for a town board bankrupted by the previous mayor.

2. I don't want to "help the mosquitoes." I want them dead. Spraying is fine.

Mayor Danny is doing a great job with very limited resources. And I didn't vote for him, I wish I had.

Can we get them to spray north of the bridge --- and I mean north --- not turn around at the Palapa Bar crossing.

Have you written to the SPTC? What did they say?

From a friend in Burrell Boom:

We are getting three times the rain this year as compared to last year so we can expect 3 times the mosquitoes. I am emptying all loose containers and draining all water settlement areas. Was pleasantly surprised on Friday night that ministry of health/gob sent out trucks spraying that awful chemical to preempt(sp) the mosquito explosion. And the rain keeps coming harder and longer.

another friend....

We're making sure our ducks hatch as many ducklings as possible. They go through every pond and puddle and eat all the tasty floating larvae. I'd rather smell duck poop in the air than malathion.
