Hi All,

I'm wanting to travel to Belize. Does anyone have knowledge of taking a cruise ship an just not getting back on the ship at Belize (letting the ship know your intentions of course)? Also what about being able to embark in Belize for a cruise returning to the US? I'm just trying to think outside the box as I will not fly and don't want to drive.

Thanks Everyone,
Dwayne

Don't think you can do what you want. Easiest way to get an answer is contact the cruise company's themselves rather then ask the message board.

I have met people who have got off in Belize. They are/were residents of Belize. If you get off or "miss the ship" you are in the country illegal until you report to immigrations. The Cruise lines do not stamp your passports. And most cruises from the US do not require passports at all.
I know of no cruise line that will allow you to board in a port other than the first port stop. If the ship left Miami and you miss it.
You can arrange to meet up with the ship at its first port stop.

To Belize, can be done. Back to the US, I would say no.

"But WHY's the rum gone?

I wanted to do it one year and was told by Princess Cruises "now way"

Thought it would be a cheaper way to get back here... but ... they weren't going for it.

just read an article about a Ferry from Tampa florida to Yucatan. It was supposed to start this fall but is postponed for a year until 2013. The CEO used to be the CEO of Norweigen Cruise.
I realize this does not help now but soemthing to check into.
