I know a lot of San Pedro residents shop in Belize City for better selection and prices. I am trying to figure out where those places are. Just about any place, from groceries to household items, clothes and office equipment, I would like to know where you recommend. Thanks!

I go to Brodies, Save U (I think that's what it's called), Food and Beverage, Chef's Meat Market and one or two other places depending on what I am looking for for groceries. Hofius and Benny's for hardwarish stuff. Mirab Furniture for furniture and Mirab department store for department storish stuff. If you get a recommendation for a good taxi driver, they'll know where all the San Pedro favourite shopping stops are. Make sure you do check your prices though - while I save up to 30% on some items, others are no cheaper or even more expensive.

For general grocery items, the cheapest supermarkets are People's and Bottom Dollar, but always check the packaging and "best before" dates. Be careful with refrigerated/frozen items. Save U has the best selection, but it's probably the most expensive supermarket in Belize City.

Buy fruits & vegetables at the main market beside the bus terminal.

For fish, buy direct from the fishermen at the fish market.

For household stuff, lots of small stores on the streets in the downtown area of the City -- Albert St., Orange St., Queen St.

For clothes, spend a day in Chetumal.
