Arriving November 30th in AC from Canada, staying at Ramon's Village. First time trip for me and hubby, can't wait. Have been peeking in on you for sometime and finding your message board very informative. If anyone has comments on what is a must do and see, please feel free to express yourselves. I've noticed that I'm not the only one who was curious about nude beaches and am very disappointed to hear that nude sunbathing is illegal, can anyone tell me if thong bikinis are allowed? Thanks to all who replied to my inquiry about a fitness facility, glad to know I can keep up my morning ritual. Any comments on what is a must to pack (besides bugspray) and what we should leave behind?? Looking forward to getting acquainted with some of you in AC.

Can anyone tell me which form of payment is more preferred for services and in the town of San Pedro...travellers cheques, credit cards??

Credit cards, travelers checks, and cash (US or BZ) all work equally well in SP.

Thong bikinis are just fine, once again "no males please". However as Mr. Thorton mentioned in the "nude beach" post, it is really encouraged that a sarong, or other type cover, be worn when on the town streets. That of course is just a matter of normal good taste.

Ramon's gets a fair amount of traffic from Europe during the summer months, and there has been some topless sun bathing from time to time at the beach area in front of the resort. I have not seen, nor LOOKED for this personally mind you, no, no no. But I have been told this by "trustworthy" sources.

Thanks for the mention CHOOCHOO, I'd be proud to have as my epithet, "He encouraged Saroog's on Middle Street, except of course for Italian Women".

I saw a woman in a thong when I was there in July. Oh, my, my, my... someone needed to give that woman a double mirror. It was quite entertaining.

Trust me, I wouldn't entertain the thought of wearing a thong if I hadn't already taken a good look in the mirror!!!

Personally, I wouldn't wear a thong in A.C. Maybe on a remote beach. There always seemed to be a lot of families and children on the beach.

I say save your thong for Cancun, it will be more appreciated in Cancun than San Pedro.

Don't get me wrong guys. I wasn't talking about strolling the streets in a thong, more along the lines of just suntanning in one on the beach. I know that on some beaches thongs are now illegal, just curious about AC.

Thanks for your input.

Polargirl....you are very fortunate to be in AC at the sametime as me and ChooChoo. Please submit your photos prior to departure and perhaps you may be one of the chosen few who will be able to use our private nude sun-bathing beach. Please understand that not everyone gets approval so don't be too disappointed if you are not selected. You can definitely wear your thong to BC's and have a drink or perhaps a bottle on me and ChooChoo. Please try and select a proper time when Mrs. Zeke & Mrs. ChooChoo are out shopping. This is a must if you want to received your drinks and free nude beach pass. Are you sure your husband has to come to AC with you? If he does insist please inform him he must wear his clothes at all time and not even think about that thong.
