Major Donations for Isla Bonita All-Star Marching Band

Since November of last year a committee of enthusiastic parents and residents has been raising funds for the Isla Bonita All Star Marching Band. This band is getting ready to attend the Governor Generalís Annual Marching Band Fest on March 23 under the fine guidance of Band Master Mr. John Thompson. The band is comprised of young boys and girls from Isla Bonita Elementary, San Pedro R.C. School, Holy Cross Anglican School, St. Peters and San Pedro High School. The Committee along with members of the marching band have so far held several raffles, a radiothon, two dollar drives with music, two parade-athons with music, sales at Island Invasion, sales at the San Pedro Holiday Boat Parade, and collection of fees from all members.

The Committee of the Isla Bonita All Star Marching Band would like the public and our sponsors to know that our band has been given the opportunity to attend the San Pedro Music camp to be held exclusively for our childrens band directed by Carlos Perroto July 22 - Aug.9 2013.

This is a great opportunity. They will be taught percussion classes, Theory- music reading Instrument practices, choreography, and steps in marching and dancing.

The fee for all the band will be BZ$2,500. Once again we are asking the generous people of San Pedro to assist and support this wonderful opportunity. This music summer camp will help showcase their potential and encourage to move forward to the next bandfest.

Anyone wishing to help please contact myself eves1942@yahoo.ca
or perlita_zapata@yahoo.com
or contact Principal Addy Martinez at ISla Bonita School lelatrejo@yahoo.com

Our heartfelt thanks to our community who supported us with Bandfest
