The training commences this Friday January 25th , 2013 at the Caye Caulker Community Center starting at 7:00 PM .All are invited to attend .
Friday痴 topic will include the introduction and the first 3 units: Why establish a community disaster response team; CDRT痴 and disasters; CDRT痴 and Disaster Preparedness and Community Assessment after a disaster.
At this meeting the dates and time for other training sessions will be determined.

The Belize Red Cross is looking for community members to be trained as Community Disaster Response Teams to volunteer with NEMO and other organization during Emergencies. If you believe you are a team player and want to make a difference in your community, please join us by signing up for the training that will commence as early as this Saturday or Sunday.
Following the training; if you attend all sessions, you will receive a certificate and your names will be included in the Community Emergency Plan that will be sent for approval to NEMO. This is a non 朴olitical training and is geared to help you to help your community in Disasters and other related hazards. The training will cover all the Units below and will require a team leader for each of the task listed below, so invite your friends and neighbor. Food and Refreshments will be provided at all training sessions.

Community Assessment after a Disaster
Psychosocial Support in Disasters
Fire Safety
Emergency Care & First Aid
Light search & Rescue
Shelter Management
Public Health in Emergency and Vector Control
Climate Change
Livelihoods Assessment and Analysis
Children and Adolescents in Disasters
Violence and Crime Prevention
Telecommunications (how to use the hand held radio)
All of these units can be covered in three days sessions (9:00 AM-4:30 PM) except for the First that require 1 day for the training. Total 4 days.
