he also helped supply low cost heating oil in CT when their home heating oil assistance program ran out of money. of course, it was one of the younger Kennedy's who arranged it. Not so well known. I think it was when Bush was in office but i could be wrong.

clover, maybe I am a dinosaur. When I was a kid, I did not have a cell phone, we shared a party line. When "spring break" came, we did not get a vaca to Mexico, as there was no access to an "international airport", nor were there funds for such nonsense. Our vacations were done by car, usually on a vast variety of county highways and dirt roads, with no air conditioning or on-board dvds. We ate in mom and pop restaurants, or made sandwichs for the journey, eaten at pull offs. No interstates, no rest stops. We did our own car repairs, no roadside assistance. We worked for everything we had, and did without other things. The world did not owe us a living. We became our own person by our deeds, and our self asteem was something we had control over. Minimal government intervention. We took care of our own, we had neighbors we actually knew. Are we better off now? The younger generation has grown up taking a lot of the infrastructure for granted, not questioning where it came from, just knowing it was their "right", not one of their privileges.

Oh God not another "Back in my day...." speech. I did all the same things worked for a living as a kid and now, the only difference between you and me is I don't have to tell my life story all the time. I am sorry your view of the younger generation is so negative.

You need to go back one more generation when you had to carry your water, there wasn't indoor plumbing and the life expectancy was around 45 years of age. Better yet go back about 15 generations when we were all living in caves hunting animals with sharp sticks.........like any of that means anything. Face it Bobber, you're not progressive and you resent younger generations...no need to be bitter I think it's a huge assumption stating that this generation takes infrastructure for granted.....or that they have rights to infrastructure...maybe you could explain that to me. WE WORKED FOR EVERYTHING WE HAD.....like no one else does....get a grip bobber......you're slipping into senility.
